Homework is ALWAYS optional in my class but strongly encouraged, as long as students are not overwhelmed with it. A homework routine at home should NOT be a time of stress for the family.
Grade Three Homework Expectations:
Homework will go home on Mondays and students are asked to return it completed on Friday. If Monday is a holiday or PD Day, then homework will go home on Tuesday to be completed on Friday.
Homework consists of:
- Reading for at least 10 -15 minutes per night. The boys and girls can choose books from home or from the online Raz Reading Program. A note will be sent home when the Raz program is ready for student access.
- Word Wall Words: At home, your child should be practicing their word wall words. They need to know how to spell these words and they must read them automatically.
- Learning Link Duotang: At the beginning of each week, your child will bring home work in their homework duotang that is to be completed and returned by Friday. This homework will focus on the concepts that are being taught in class.
A letter further outlining the homework routine will be provided during the St. Luke "Meet The Teacher" Curriculum Night.
