In numeration the students have been constructing and breaking down numbers using base ten and learning about the role of ordinal numbers in the world around them. Problem Solving is explored regularly with the focus on using different strategies and explaining
Math work stations have also been introduced to the children and will be on-going. These stations are presented in game format and will allow the boys and girls to engage in authentic and meaningful hands-on learning. They will last for several weeks, giving the students time to reinforce or extend their prior instruction, This is also a great time for the students to learn to collaborate and work cooperatively with their classmates.
We also have been emphasizing doing kind acts and paying it forward within our classroom and the St. Luke community. Ask your child if they are "bucket fillers".
